Been sick. Fuckin’ cold. Actually I think it was not a cold but more than that but I prefer callind it a ‘cold’ and get rid of it. It ruined my last weeks; fever and coughing are not my 2 favorite activities in this time of the year. Many apologies if you considered this blog ‘left all alone’. But it’s been chaotic and inredibly tiring for me.

With 1.7 million records sold in 2010, having “Brothers” album placed 2nd in Rolling Stone’s albums of the year chart, The Black Keys are “Artist of the Year for 2010” by SPIN magazine.

You may remember their track for Twilight series but these guys are more than just a blockbuster track.

They had in 2009 a collaborative album out, “Blakroc”, with some hip hop artists like Mos Def or RZA, the project being supported by Damon Dash, a big fan of the band.  Looks like in 2011 they plan to release “Blakroc 2”.

Go get their new album, it will blow your ears off.

Ok, people, what’s next on the list:

• swimming lessons:  I gotta learn how to swim. It’s unacceptable to be 30 and not to know how to swim
• cooking course: not lessons but a proper diploma to become a chef. I’m working on it, gotta get a paid job first
• learn German, step by step. Or Spanish.
• use my camera every day.
• there was one more but I forgot. Yes, fish oil capsules for MY MEMORY

First term essay handed in. Hurray! Now, let’s enjoy some London life,  some well deserved sleep, some sneakers and my camera. I miss it so much!!!

Stay close, good things are supposed to happen. Except the past 2 weeks when I was supposed to break my legs. Am I lucky or I read the wrong horoscope?

My New Year started in bus 35 in London. Continued with a cold, fever, panic attacks due to my essay (has to be delivered next Friday), tears (panic attacks do come with some crying), chocolate (thank God I still have some money left for that).

Tonight, I would like to send a big thank you to the internet provider who managed to fuck up my Skype in the past 3 days but managed to have a decent connection tonight. A big thank you to the lovely driver tonight from bus 49 who saw me running 100m, missing 2 buses, but still stopped in the middle of the street to let me get on. Man, you are my hero tonight!

Another day from this amazing 2011. I’ll keep you posted. As my favorite astrologer says, I should watch out for my legs in the next days, I may breake them. Both of them!!!! (why didn’t I breake them while I was running after the bus?!?!?! Damn, her prediction is for 1-7 January, still 3 days to go)

This is work in progress as this post is all about looks. The London fashion experience has been like an epiphany for me. I can wear anything in that city!!! Any color, any shape, any texture. So, why not abuse it? For the first time in many years, I started feeling comfortable wearing skinny jeans. Well, I lost like 3 kilos so they fit quite nice. But, anyway, I feel good. Got my sneakers, got my tshirts, let’s do something with them, right?

So, what are my New Year resolutions in terms of fashion for my next London school terms:

• do not touch Converse: God, I really hate them. I’m sorry, guys, but I hate Converse. I found only one pair that I really liked but they didn’t have my number as they were for boys. So why bother?
• more Vans: all colors!!! High tops, slip ons, any of them, I simply love them and they can be worn with jeans and dresses (so G should be happy)
• less Nike: too expensive and I didn’t have the chance to wear intensively my purple ones from Berlin!!!
• more dresses: to be decided! Not very short ones, not too feminine, nothing too tight or revealing (boyfriend must be happy)
• more skirts: the same as above but fun and comfy
• buy more classic basics, no more printed tshirts!
• accessories: rings, bby, rings! I love them! Any shape, any color, loads of them on my fingers That involves the next post about … nails
• nails: drop the black, hurray for grey It’s perfect for colorful rings, right?
• less bags, more backpacks: my back needs that and they look so nice when worn with Vans or any slip ons

Moving to London for one year made me think about a different New Year resolution. I must admit, this year was the first year when I finally managed to follow my 12 point list and accomplish EVERYTHING. So, for next year is gonna be different and harder but who cares?!?!!? I’ve been through some deep shit and I managed to survive and succeed. Always.

Panic is the word of this week. And a nice, classic cold. Christmas always comes with a nice cold included, a great present I get EVERY YEAR!!!

I was mesmerized seeing how bad weather and snow were blocking all nice tourists and English citizens planning to get from A to B by airplane or by train. Or by car. One of my colleagues  got trapped in the countryside by heavy storm, some of my colleagues were forced to go several times to Heathrow and then come back home as their flights were canceled. Luckily my dear colleagues from uni got back safe home in time  when everybody was panicked and nervous as their flights were being canceled by BA.

I got my Christmas present in the shape of a plane ticket back home to see my loved ones. Thank you God for low cost airline that fly off Luton! Not Heathrow!!! While everybody was waiting for the so called bad weather to improve, flights were operated off Luton and Gatwick. So, flying cheap is not that bad sometimes, right?

Cooking, presents, Tron, sunny and warm weather. Loved this Christmas And there’s more to come

PS: I am praying for snow and cold weather for the next week. My board is getting rusty
